Some building questions need a conversation before they need a construction quote. After almost 20 years on extensions, renovations and carpentry, I can help you think through an existing building, proposed work or an uncertain repair.
You book my time at an hourly rate, agreed before we start. Most consults happen on site, so we can look at the real thing together.

On-site advice
A walkthrough of accessible areas where a condition or construction detail has raised questions. We talk through what can be seen, what still needs to be understood, and when an engineer or other specialist is the right next call.
Water ingress and moisture concerns
A look at visible building interfaces, drainage around the building and where water has been reported coming in. Where measured information would add useful evidence, a Home State Assessment can be booked separately.
Design and buildability
Practical input on plans, material choices, construction details, proposed alterations and sequencing. Useful when an owner, architect or designer wants a construction perspective before the design or budget is settled.
Renovation and maintenance planning
Work through what you want to do, sensible priorities, and the information you need to brief trades, a designer or a future construction quote.

The scope
Consulting is builder-led advice and practical construction input. Engineering assessment, registered architectural services, statutory certification, formal pre-purchase and building-and-pest inspections and specialised waterproofing investigations are separate specialist services, and I'll tell you when one is needed.
