Check whether agreed conditions changed after the work.
Targeted Performance Testing and Verification is a separately scoped record of agreed conditions before and after a defined change. A comparison is reported only when the points, device, mode, method and relevant conditions are sufficiently comparable.
The method, locations and success question are agreed before the first measurement wherever possible. The return visit records the same agreed points using a compatible method and states whether a comparison can be made and, if so, what difference the evidence supports after device and method limitations are considered.
What the scope defines
- The work or change being assessed.
- The readings and observations relevant to that question.
- The mapped locations and device method.
- The conditions that need to be recorded on each visit.
- The limits on what the comparison can establish.
What you receive
A side-by-side record of the agreed readings and observations, the conditions on each visit, the comparison that the evidence supports and the limitations.
If the two visits are not sufficiently comparable, the report says so. It does not force a pass, fail or improvement claim.
What it does not do
It does not certify compliance, guarantee performance, approve a trade's work, establish every cause or replace a test that belongs to an engineer, certifier, licensed trade or laboratory.
When it fits
- After a defined ventilation, insulation, drainage, sealing or other building-performance change.
- When a builder or owner wants a measured handover or follow-up record.
- When a Baseline or targeted assessment has identified locations worth revisiting.
