I’m Joe, founder and director of Joe Builds Pty Ltd.

My career began on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, where I learned from two generations of builders who passed down both traditional craftsmanship and modern building techniques. Those early years instilled in me a deep respect for quality, detail, and doing things properly—a mindset that’s shaped my 18+ years in the trade.

Since then, I’ve worked across custom homes, large-scale renovations, and commercial projects. That experience has taught me to be hands-on, solutions-focused, and to approach every build with creativity rather than convention. Running my own company has given me the freedom to push innovation while staying grounded and humble.

My love of the outdoors fuels the way I build. I believe homes should connect people to nature, protect the environment, and feel genuinely healthy to live in. That philosophy guides these builds: thoughtful design, sustainable practices, and natural living environments.

Right now, we’re designing our own home and Granny Flat in Korora—showcase projects where we’re testing ideas, refining systems, and proving that high-performance, natural-material homes can be both innovative and replicable.

At the heart of it all is a simple philosophy: bring nature in, and create calm.
